Enjoy the spring

Spring in Hanko is a veritable energy boost. Come visit Hanko and you will feel the power of the ocean and the spring light filling you with new energy. Take a walk by the ocean, admire the seabirds returning from abroad or visit the Garden Week or a market. Spring is full of life, come find your own favourite!


Vappu, the May Day celebration

This spring festival is a popular carnival that has traditionally been celebrated by workers and students. In Hanko several restaurants offer special deals for brunch or lunch on May Day, or you can arrange a picnic of your own with sparkling wine and take away food.

The traditional outdoors concert is held in the Spa Park 1.5. at 11 with Hangon Suomalainen Sekakuoro and Hangö Manskör performing.


New! Regatta Spa is open

Hanko is once again a spa town, after a break of almost 80 years. The grand opening of the new Regatta Spa took place in April 2017.

Adults 20 euro, children (under 12) and pensioners 10 euro.

Go biking with a fattie

Rent a Fat Bike from Hanko tourist office and go biking in the city or out in the terrain.

1-2 h 20 euro, following hours á 7 euro.
Day rental 50 euro. 24 hours 120 euro. Prices include tax.


Enjoy the nature

Walking, biking or kayaking- the nature is present everywhere in Hanko. Spending time in the nature makes us feel well and affects our health in a positive way, already 20 minutes in nature lowers our blood pressure.

In Hanko you can choose to experience the nature on your own or to join a guided tour.  You can watch the migratory birds return to Finland; a good place for birdwatching is the Tulliniemi nature trail, a trail that takes you to the southernmost point of Finland. Tips for birdwatchers!

Waffles and fresh coffee

Waffles and fresh coffee are signs of spring! Café Regatta is famous for their tasty waffles and at Café-Bakery Lillan you find locally baked fresh bread, delicacies and coffee.  And don´t forget the fresh cinnamon rolls baked every Saturday at Alans Café!

Hanko Garden Days 25.–28.5.2017 offer a lot of interesting program for lovers of gardening and the nature. One can visit local gardens and participate in a guided tours etc. For more information please contact the Hanko tourist information.



Beach Clean Up in Hanko 30.5

If you want to help protect the ocean you love from pollution come and join this volunteer effort. The tourist office arranges a Beach Clean Up 30.5 in cooperation with the organisation Pidä Saaristo Siistinä.
