Hanko Garden Days

Hanko Garden Days 25.–27.5.2018 offer a lot of interesting program for lovers of gardening and the nature. One can visit local gardens and participate in a guided tours etc.
Friday 25.5 at 5-7pm: Guided tour to the German transit camp at Tulliniemi (in Finnish and Swedish). Guide Tarja Kvarnström. Registrations: tarja.kvarnstrom@me.com. Price: 10 euros.
Saturday 26.5 at 10-12am: Exchanging of saplings, Alans Café.
Here you can not only exchange your saplings, but also get advice about planting and nurturing. Garden designer Päivi Rahikka from Via Garden will also be present.  Bring a picture or drawing of your garden´s problem areas or spots, where you are looking for a spruce-up.
Price: 5 euros (to be paid on the spot), 15 minutes. Exchanging of saplings is free.
Saturday 26.5 at 2-4pm: Spot the Park–guided tour by bike
Departure: The statue of liberty. The guides Helena-Boström-Mäkelä and Pirkko Sandblom know the parks like the back of their hands. Price: 5 euros
Sunday 27.5 at 2-4pm: Spot the Yard goes Täktom. Departure from the Market Place (transportation by bus)
Experience the Täktom stash for yourself: Japanese, Finnish, romantic and useful gardening, all in one package. Pit-stop at a local producer´s farm, where you can buy these local goods (cash only). Price: 10 euros. Registration tarja.kvarnstrom@me.com



MayDay – a collective dip in the historic spa town

MayDay 2017 kicks off the national bathing season with a collective dip in Hanko. MayDay leads the bathing nation straight into the welcoming, refreshing sea with a festive takeoff. The festivities  start in the Casino park 26.5 at 12pm. In consideration of the town´s old spa traditions, a reconstructions of Hanko´s traditional and iconic changing hut will be revealed.

Go biking with a fattie

Rent a Fat Bike from Hanko tourist office and go biking in the city or out in the terrain.

Prices 2018:
1-2 h 20 euro, following hours á 7 euro.
Day rental 50 euro. 24 hours 120 euro. Prices include tax.
